Air Ocean Export Specialist

A long-established, North Dublin-based freight forwarder now wishes to hire an experienced Air Ocean Export Specialist. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure goods are transported in the safest, most efficient and cost-effective way. You will manage the whole freight forwarding process from start to finish, ensuring that all transport bookings and documents are prepared from the point of origin to the destination.

As an experienced Freight Forwarder you will organise the best means of transporting goods, recording all details in Cargowise and ensuring that the process runs smoothly reducing the risk of unforeseen costs or delays.

Key Responsibilities;

• Organizes, plans and facilitates the day to day work within the Air & Sea freight Export Department.
• Acts as an expert within the department quickly identifying and resolving any operational issues in a timely manner to ensure quick resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Ensures all handling of export documents is completed efficiently and accurately according to regulations and internal procedures.
• Responsible to ensure customer’s needs, requirements, and KPIs are met or exceeded
• Creates, builds, and maintains excellent relationships with key suppliers both internal and external.
• Continuously monitors supplier performance and develops improvement plans when required.
• Drives continuous improvement within the department
• Responsible for assisting with department P&L.
• Supports sales process and customer visits as necessary to achieve growth targets.
• Acts as an expert for Pharma/Perishable/Secure Cargo product

Requirements;

• Minimum 10 years air ocean export experience within the local market.
• Competent and confident with both modes of transport.
• Excellent export documentation knowledge.
• Expert knowledge of moving Pharma/Perishable/Secure Cargo products
• Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills.
• Very strong analytical and decision making skills

A five-year background check is required for Aviation Security Clearance. This includes all periods of employment and education regardless of duration or nature. A complete set of references covering exact dates spanning the last 5 years must be achieved. Gaps exceeding 28 days are not permitted and must be evidenced.
