Role: Airfreight Operations Manager
Location: Dublin 17
Terms: Permanent, Full-time, Mon – Friday
Package: Negotiable salary (DOE)
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Airfreight Operations Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day airfreight operations within our dynamic freight forwarding company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of airfreight operations, ensuring timely and efficient shipment handling, customs clearance, and delivery.
- Lead and develop a team of airfreight coordinators and staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring service excellence and handling escalations as required.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with airlines, negotiate rates, and optimize carrier performance to meet operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant international and local airfreight regulations, including customs and security requirements.
- Monitor and control operational costs, identify efficiencies, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance, address issues, and drive continuous improvement.
- Analyze and improve existing workflows, implement best practices, and ensure the efficient use of resources and technology.
- Handle and resolve operational challenges, such as delays, discrepancies, or customer concerns, in a proactive and efficient manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in airfreight operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of airfreight logistics, customs processes, and international shipping regulations.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage performance, and foster a positive work environment.
