We are now looking to establish an Airfreight Department and need a passionate and experienced Airfreight Product Manager to lead this exciting new venture.

As the Airfreight Product Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to build and develop our airfreight department from the ground up. This is a pivotal role within the company, where you will initially take charge of airfreight operations and gradually expand the team as the department grows. Your responsibilities will include educating and supporting our existing sales team, driving sales for the new department, completing airfreight operations and ensuring seamless integration with our current logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and develop the airfreight department, setting up processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Take full ownership of airfreight operations, including pricing, procurement, and service delivery.
  • Hire, train, and manage a small team of airfreight professionals as the department grows over time.
  • Drive sales and revenue for the airfreight department, leveraging existing company resources and your own industry connections.
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop and execute a sales strategy for airfreight services.
  • Identify new business opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and manage key accounts.
  • Educate the existing sales team on airfreight products and services, enabling them to effectively sell and promote airfreight solutions.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to the sales team, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge necessary to succeed.
  • Oversee in-house customs processes to ensure compliance with regulations and smooth customs clearance for airfreight shipments.
  • Ensure all airfreight operations comply with industry standards and regulations, including maintaining AEO certification.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the quality and efficiency of airfreight services to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Experience, Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in airfreight operations, with a strong background in sales and business development within the local market.
  • In-depth understanding of airfreight operations, including pricing, procurement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing teams, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Strong sales skills with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and manage key accounts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and influence others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • AEO certification and experience with in-house customs processes are a plus.
