Long-established Dublin 24-based freight forwarder now seek an experienced  Customs Clearance Agent. You will become part of a customer-focused customs team specialising in the international Groupage market. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to grow their career in customs and the position is hybrid (1 day WFH). The Customs Clearance Agent will be responsible for managing daily import and export customs clearances along with any associated administrative tasks ensuring the clients needs are continually met. 

Express parcel customs experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provide support to clients and advise on Customs subject matter  
  • Preparation and submission of import/export declarations using Thyme IT
  • Review Customs transactions in the THYME IT system and Customs billing reconciliation
  • Completing and validating Customs compliant documentation
  • Liaise with relevant Customs agencies where required
  • Liaise with carriers & customers for shipping information & documentation 
  • Life cycle job management ensuring all correspondence is followed up and resolved
  • Support the Operations & Freight Forwarding teams in customs related matters.
  • Interface with Carriers and Information providers to ensure all required information is received.  
  • Provide completed Customs documentation to the Customer.  

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years Irish Import Customs Clearance experience within a freight forwarder ideally with some export declarations knowledge.
  • A qualification in Customs Clearance is an advantage
  • Strong PC Skills such as MS Office with knowledge of Thyme IT an advantage
  • Customer-focused with a desire to always strive for excellence.  
  • Experience as working part of a team
  • Curious, motivated and ability to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent communication and administration skills.  
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Professional and focused approach with a high level to attention and detail.  
  • Attention to analytics and conformance with defined procedures in tight timelines.  
  • Excellent organisational skills and capable of working at a fast pace
