Leading Dublin 15-based Freight company now seek an experienced Domestic Transport Planner. You will successfully plan all deliveries of UK import cargo whilst being responsible for the activities and allocation of work for subcontractors, owner-drivers and their own drivers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and route all deliveries on a daily basis, considering any handover notes from the previous shift, tracking of the vehicles and driver resources available
  • Working on Azyra IT system to plan and route all the required deliveries daily, paying attention to agreed delivery times and schedules
  • Creation of manifests for the loading team in line with daily operational schedules
  • Dealing with discrepancies and/or damages from daily outbound trunks
  • Inform regional carriers about daily volume.
  • Prepare any required documentation to support the deliveries, drivers, and collection vehicles
  • Review the planned deliveries with drivers, making any agreed amends based on business approved reasons
  • Ensure the timely departure of drivers & monitor the working hours per driver 
  • Dealing with customer queries and ad-hoc quoting via different methods of communication, escalating to your Line Manger where appropriate
  • Monitoring driver progress, help on any troubleshooting & keeping records up to date on driver performance KPI
  • Undertake full Driver debriefs making the relevant checks and collating required documentation
  • Automated and manual scanning of POD’s
  • Following up with drivers and subcontractors on missing POD’s

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge:

  • High volume domestic planning experience in a similar role within the transport / logistics industry
  • Ideally CPC certified but must have knowledge of driver's rules and regulations.
  • Good local geographical knowledge
  • IT literate & proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to work in a small team with minimal supervision
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise
  • Ability to multi-task with a calm and flexible approach 
  • Excellent communication and 'people skills' with the confidence to direct and motivate others The ability to work calmly under pressure

Terms: 
Full-time permanent, Site based working an 8-hour flexible shift pattern 07:00 - 16:00 Hrs or 09:00 - 18:00 Hrs
