Title:         European Road Freight Operations Manager 
Location:    South or North Dublin
Terms:     Full-time, permanent, office-based

We are working with a leading logistics group with an extensive network of partners across the UK, Europe, and globally, including key partners in Switzerland, Turkey, China, and other continents. They are proud members of one of Europe’s largest groupage networks, and can offer unparalleled services across Europe’s largest freight companies, ensuring comprehensive and efficient logistics solutions for their clients.

The position of European Road Freight Operations Manager is now available working from either their South or North Dublin offices. You will have overall managerial control of 20 European forwarding partners, tasking operations staff to book collections with the right partner to ensure cost-effective load planning. You will also work with their UK depots to assist where needed on GB > EU > GB shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strong client relationships are built and maintained by the operations team.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities in European road freight for the Commercial team.
  • Work closely with European network partners and own UK depots to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Meet and exceed operations KPI targets, contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.
  • Provide regular reports and forecasts to the management team, highlighting progress and areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven track record in European road freight operations management, with a focus on full loads and groupage. Experience in import and export logistics in the local market is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the road freight industry, including some familiarity with air and sea freight.
  • Established network of contacts within the industry, preferably amongst carriers and with some clients and business leads.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
