Title: European Road Freight Forwarder  
Location: Dublin 13
Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Office-based
Package: €35-40k + Bonus

A long-established freight forwarder is seeking an experienced and highly organized European Road Freight Forwarder to manage and coordinate full-load (FTL), part-load (LTL), and groupage shipments across Europe. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of international road transport procedures, routing, customs regulations, and carrier management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate road freight movements across Europe, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage end-to-end shipping processes including booking, tracking, documentation, and invoicing.
  • Source and negotiate with hauliers and transport partners to secure optimal rates and service levels.
  • Handle all transport documentation including CMRs, transit documents, and customs declarations as required.
  • Monitor shipments and proactively address any delays, disruptions, or client concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with European transport regulations, customs procedures, and health and safety standards.
  • Liaise with internal departments (customer service, warehouse, finance) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships, acting as a key point of contact for logistics queries.
  • Provide regular status updates to clients and escalate issues where necessary.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Min 2+ years’ experience in European road freight forwarding within a local forwarder.
  • Strong knowledge of international road transport networks, incoterms, and EU transport legislation.
  • Proficient with freight forwarding software and systems (e.g., TMS, ERP platforms).
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of customs procedures and cross-border documentation.
