Key Responsibilities:
- Freight Operations:
- Manage express groupage and consolidation shipments from origin to destination utilising road and airfreight movements.
- Ensure efficient planning, coordination, and execution of freight movements.
- Customs Clearance:
- Handle end-to-end customs clearance procedures, including submission of accurate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all customs regulations and facilitate prompt clearance of goods.
- Operate and manage processes using the Automated Import System (AIS).
- Customer & Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring exceptional service and prompt resolution of queries.
- Liaise with carriers, agents, and customs authorities to ensure seamless operations.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare and verify all shipping and customs documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date records of shipments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company and legal standards.
- Problem Solving:
- Resolve operational issues proactively to minimize delays or disruptions.
- Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in road and air freight forwarding with a focus on express groupage/consolidation.
- Proven experience in customs clearance, including hands-on AIS operations.
- Strong understanding of customs regulations, duties, and taxes.
- Familiarity with incoterms and international freight documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for managing customer relationships.
- Proficient in freight forwarding and customs software.
- Good command of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
