We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated freight operations manager to oversee and manage the logistics operations of a removal company based in Cork. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a keen understanding of supply chain management within the removals industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the logistics team, ensuring efficient coordination of removals and storage services.
  • Plan and manage logistics schedules, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.
  • Monitor and optimise transportation routes, managing fleet maintenance and fuel usage.
  • Manage the allocation of resources, including vehicles, equipment, and personnel, to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to reduce costs and improve overall service delivery.
  • Handle customer service queries related to logistics and resolve any operational issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and environmental regulations related to logistics operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, ensuring proper documentation for each job.
  • Lead and train a team of logistics coordinators and drivers, providing guidance and support where needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including sales and customer service, to ensure a smooth and seamless experience for clients

Qualifications

  • Degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as a Diploma in Logistics and Transport (CILT) are advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics software and fleet management systems.
  • Previous experience in logistics or removal management is highly desirable.
