
Role: Import Coordinator
Location: Cork
Terms: Permanent, Full-time, Mon – Friday
Package: Negotiable salary (DOE)
We are looking for an Import Freight Coordinator. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role is essential in ensuring smooth and efficient import operations while delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for handling import shipments, liaising with transport providers, and ensuring compliance with customs requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate daily UK import operations, ensuring all shipments are processed efficiently and meet required transit times.
- Accurately record and update shipments in the freight management system while ensuring all necessary customs documentation is obtained.
- Work closely with transport providers to organize collections and deliveries, ensuring customer requirements are met.
- Build strong relationships with key clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored shipping solutions.
- Identify potential operational challenges and proactively report concerns to management.
- Handle billing and invoicing processes, ensuring all files are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist in managing insurance claims and accounting queries as directed by management.
- Monitor incoming correspondence, prioritizing urgent issues and delegating tasks where necessary.
- Support month-end reporting and compliance procedures as required.
- Uphold company policies, procedures, and service standards to maintain a professional and high-quality service.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in import freight operations is an advantage.
- Strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in freight management systems and general IT skills.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service and communication skills to maintain positive relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Team-oriented mindset with good organizational and leadership abilities.
- Ability to adapt to company procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
