Our client, a leading Ocean Freight Forwarder based in North Dublin, is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Pricing & Procurement Specialist to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong pricing expertise and a solid understanding of ocean freight operations to take the next step in their career.
Reporting to the Ocean Freight Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimising ocean import pricing through the global agency network. Your role will involve building agent relationships, negotiating competitive rates and producing quotations for Sales staff, ensuring competitive pricing strategies to maintain strong revenue margins.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key global agents.
- Managing and updating pricing files for Freight Management RFQs, ensuring competitiveness while optimising Net Revenue margins.
- Working closely with operations and onboarding teams to support the seamless implementation of new business.
- Engaging with agency partners to follow up on opportunities and align pricing solutions with customer needs and business objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of three years experience in ocean import procurement and pricing within a busy freight forwarding environment.
- A solid understanding of ocean freight movements and procurement strategies.
- The ability to analyse pricing data and identify key trends.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence key decision-makers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
