Due to the growth within the company, a vacancy currently exists for the position of Road Freight Forwarder. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of Customer Service are met whilst maximizing company profitability in line with department requirements while ensuring responsibilities as set by the company are completed efficiently and to the standard required.

Key Duties:

  • Planning and arranging domestic and international road shipments providing customers with the most competitive quotes available.
  • Arranging import and export customs clearance, obtaining, checking and preparing relevant documentation to meet customs requirements.
  • Arranging courier and specialist hand-carry deliveries.
  • Provide extensive third party freight forwarding solutions to manufacturing firms with logistics service availability. 
  • Work with the internal operations team to ensure efficient logistics management.
  • Coordinate with our global network to provide 'end to end' supply chain services.
  • Prepare appropriate shipping documents to accompany freight movements.
  • Maintaining close relationships with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operations and compliance with deadlines.
  • Problem-solving of any issue that may arise. Specific examples include delays, bottlenecks, problems with financial transactions, missing cargo, issues relating to customs formalities and Incoterms.
  • Liaise with our internal accounting and marketing departments to review client objectives.
  • Ensure all Billing and Accurate Costings are completed when the job is closed.
  • Create reports to update the management on the team's progress where necessary.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Min 3 years recent European or UK Export Road Freight Operations experience.
  • Quality and detailed focused.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritize work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility
  • FIATA Diploma & Customs Certification would be beneficial

Type:
Full-time, Permanent, Office-based role working normal hours Monday to Friday.
