An experienced European Road Freight Operator is now required by a North Dublin road freight forwarding specialist. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced European Road Freight Operator with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end road freight operations across Europe, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate European road freight shipments, ensuring all bookings are handled efficiently.
- Liaise with customers, carriers, and suppliers to arrange transportation, providing regular updates on shipment status.
- Monitor and manage freight costs, ensuring profitability on all routes and deliveries.
- Handle customs documentation and ensure compliance with European regulations.
- Ensure all transport activities are compliant with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Manage and resolve any operational issues or delays in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Negotiate rates with hauliers and subcontractors, ensuring cost-effective transport solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all freight movements, invoices, and documentation.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years' recent experience in European road freight operations.
- Strong knowledge of European road freight regulations, customs procedures, and documentation.
- Proven ability to manage shipments from start to finish, including liaising with carriers and customers.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using transport management systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Fluency in English.
