Our client is looking for a Senior Logistics Planner. In this role you will play a crucial part in managing our logistics operations, ensuring efficient transport and delivery schedules for the manufacturing locations. You will lead a team, coordinate with various stakeholders, and optimize the processes to meet customer demands effectively.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Plan the most effective daily transport and delivery schedules for each manufacturing location.
- Lead a logistics team to manage our business process for order-delivery, including customer service.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing location managers and batching teams to ensure effective production planning, capacity understanding, and product capability.
- Oversee processing of orders received via various channels including telephone, email, face-to-face, or Sales Team.
- Responsible for vehicle planning and allocation of fleet to locations to fulfill daily orders.
- Ensure all customer orders are delivered within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain ongoing effective communication with site teams, fleet, production locations, technical, and sales teams.
- Understand and achieve specific targets regarding truck utilization, costs, and empty journeys.
- Work closely with dispatch teams to maximize the utilization of trucks.
- Ensure oversight on the delivery of the right products and material quantities to customers.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience working in a logistics or dispatch office.
- Strong knowledge of systems and detailed administration.
- Logistics experience within manufacturing would be beneficial.
- Supply Chain or Logistics third-level qualification is desirable.
