The Warehouse Operations Manager will be responsible for opening and setting up a new large-scale warehouse and providing comprehensive training to all staff. The ideal candidate must be a commercially driven self-starter with extensive experience in logistics, cost management, training, and shipping operations
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of a large-scale, warehouse to ensure smooth workflows and high productivity.
- Create and implement operational guidelines and procedures to enhance efficiency and minimize expenses.
- Guarantee full compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
- Develop and execute strategies to turn the warehouse into a profit-generating operation.
- Track and evaluate financial performance, focusing on cost management, revenue growth, and achieving profitability goals.
- Explore new opportunities for additional revenue, such as offering value-added services or forming strategic partnerships.
- Oversee logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and stakeholders to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Use data insights to forecast inventory requirements and maximize warehouse storage capacity.
- Lead and inspire a team of warehouse professionals, maintaining a high level of performance and engagement.
- Supervise the deployment and effective use of warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline processes.
- Leverage data analytics to inform strategic decisions and enhance operational efficiency
Key Requirements for the Role
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) are beneficial.A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a warehouse of comparable size (25,000 sq. ft. or larger).
- Proven success in overseeing warehouse operations with a focus on commercial results or operating as a profit center.
- In-depth understanding of logistics, supply chain processes, and inventory management.
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of motivating and guiding teams in high-pressure environments.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems and leveraging data to inform decisions.
