An established freight forwarder is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead and optimise its European import/export freight division. This hands-on leadership role requires a strategic, commercially driven individual with expertise in supply chain management and performance optimisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior management to optimise workflows, resource allocation, and cost efficiencies.
- Manage KPIs, margin control, and financial performance for continuous improvement.
- Lead the freight operations team, overseeing European import/export shipments.
- Utilise ERP systems (e.g., Azyra) to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
- Drive tech and data integration for process automation and decision-making.
- Negotiate competitive rates while maintaining high service levels.
- Oversee customer and partner communications, including EDI and API integrations.
- Monitor financial performance, including operational costs and pricing strategies.
- Lead and mentor the team, fostering talent development.
- Support projects aimed at improving supply chain efficiency and scalability.
Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in logistics and freight operations management.
- Strong background in strategic planning, KPI management, and financial oversight.
- Tech-savvy with experience in ERP systems and data-driven tools.
- Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.
- Ability to analyse data and drive performance improvements in a fast-paced environment
