We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Senior Transport Planner to our Client in a fast-paced Transport department in Dublin 22. You will play a crucial role in overseeing transport planning and logistics for domestic, import, and export deliveries, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service. As the Senior Transport Planner, you will liaise with multiple departments, manage haulier relationships, and be accountable for meeting delivery targets across Ireland and the UK. This is a hands-on job.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Plan and assign customer sales to transport for domestic, import, and export deliveries.
- Plan a large volume of trucks - approx 15 per day, together with coordinating the collections - around 70 each day.
- Manage transport schedules and linehauls for the UK and Ireland, ensuring delivery targets are met.
- Liaise with Customer Services, Sales, and Customs to address any issues and provide updates.
- Maintain strong relationships with hauliers and third-party logistics providers.
- Create reports and delivery schedules for internal and external use.
- Ensure workload is managed efficiently while meeting deadlines.
- Identify and implement ways to improve transport performance and customer service.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Clean Category B Driving Licence.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Ireland.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent organisation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Flexibility with working hours and ability to work well under pressure.
