Our client, a leading chemical distribution company based in Dublin 22, now seeks to hire a Team Leader (Logistics Operation) to undertake the safe and efficient operation of the logistical activities and the team of operatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervisory management of the logistical operation, in order to maintain the required service levels to customers, within safety, budget and operational KPI targets.
- To maintain continuous focus on achieving targets and deadlines with specific emphasis on Health & Safety, Food Safety, hygiene and housekeeping as well as maintaining required reports and records.
- Delivery Scheduling / Route Planning and liaising with contract drivers / 3rd Party Logistics partners and the customer.
- Participate in monthly stocktakes of the sites inventory.
- Coordinate the site’s preventative maintenance programme for delivery vehicles.
- Lead, direct, train and motivate logistical team on meeting operational goals.
- Participate in customer and statutory audits of the depots operations as required.
- Direct and lead the team to ensure that they have the skill sets, resources and support needed to deliver in their role and achieve objectives.
- Participate in reviews, appraisals and relevant training / development plans of the operations team as appropriate.
- To maintain effective consultation/communication with the Management Team and warehouse staff, as well as other relevant departments.
- To cover for other members of the depots operations team as and when required.
Skills
- 3 years previous experience preferred in a similar logistical management position.
- Experience in handling hazardous chemicals is preferable but not essential.
- Qualified Forklift driving licence and current forklift experience is desirable.
- Excellent team performance skills with the ability to work successfully with both management and warehouse teams.
- The ability to identify and solve problems through their own initiative and by communicating solutions with the relevant persons / customers.
- Good knowledge of operational systems and knowledge of specific processes in relation to health and safety.
- Comfortable working in a busy deadline driven environment.
- Good communication and proficient IT skills (incl Microsoft outlook, excel, word).
